Director of Tri Energy Karate Academy

Renshi R. Balakumar is the founder and director of Tri Energy Karate Academy. Born in Chennai, his journey in Karate began during his school days. Despite pursuing a professional career, he nurtured his passion for Karate throughout his life.

Renshi Balakumar earned his Black Belt from Colt Karate, where he served as a successful Chief Organizer for various events and was recognized as one of the best students under the esteemed guidance of Shihan M. Babu and Shihan S. Ravi. He holds certifications as a Judge B and a qualified Kumite coach from the Karate Association of India (KAI). Additionally, he was certified as a Judge by the International Goju-Ryu Karate Association (IGKA) under Hanshi Dennis May (President, IGKA, New Zealand), who has been a coach for the WKF New Zealand team.

Currently, Renshi Balakumar serves as the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Goju-Ryu Federation and is a member of the Organizing Committee of TSKA (Tamil Nadu Sports Karate Association).

His deep belief in the power of energy, coupled with his experience, led him to become a full-time instructor, a skilled meditator, and a holistic healer.

With over 25 years of experience in Karate, Renshi Balakumar founded the Tri Energy Karate Academy, focusing on developing disciplined, responsible, and confident individuals. As the Director, he plays a pivotal role in training instructors, ensuring they meet the academy's high standards, and fostering team growth.

His unique training methodology allows students to enjoy the classes while pushing themselves to their fullest potential, striking a perfect balance between discipline and enthusiasm.
